Strength Card Reversed

The language we give empaths

is all wrong.

We tell them

they lack boundaries.

We tell them

they let others usurp their energy.

We tell them

they are wrong for loving first,

wrong for loving consistently,

wrong for walking into this world without lack,

wrong for carrying

an awareness of abundance,

of love,

of courage.

And then we celebrate

those who envy their light

and call it wisdom

when they snuff it out.

We celebrate

those who try to box them in,

those made uneasy by their shine,

those who mistake intimidation

for power.

We celebrate the cowards.

Because it is cowardly

to live an unexamined life,

navel-gazing,

ego-driven,

and empty.
